Day 1 - Delhi
On the very first day of your Royal Rajasthan on Wheels journey assemble at the Safdarjung Railway Station by 16:00 hours and be welcomed traditionally by the attendants of the Royal Rajasthan on Wheels. Day 2 - Jodhpur
You will arrive in Jodhpur on the 2nd day of the journey by about 06:00 hours. Post-breakfast you will resume your Royal Rajasthan on Wheels itinerary across the city and arrive at the attractions including the Jaswant Thada, Mehrangarh Fort, and the Umaid Bhawan Place. Return to the train by 15:30 hours to travel to the next destination Udaipur, known as the city of lakes.
Day 3 - Udaipur/ Chittorgar
At 06:00 hours on the 3rd day, you will arrive in Udaipur that houses the lake Pichola. The City Palace complex and the Sahelion ki Baari are a few of the most significant attractions housed here that are worth a visit. Wind your Udaipur visit by embarking on a boat ride on the Lake Pichola.
Return to the train to leave for the next destination Chittorgarh that is located at a distance of about 112 km away. The Chittorgarh fort with its numerous towers is the most famous landmark here. Visit the fort and be a spectator to the light and sound show in the evening, organized especially for the guests of the Rajasthan Royal on Wheels.Return to the train and carry on with the this royal train journey to the next location Sawai Madhopur.Dinner and overnight stay aboard the train.
Day 4 - Sawai Madhopur/ Jaipur
On the 4th day of the tour, arrive in Sawai Madhopur, the nearest base from where you can travel down to the Ranthambore National Park. Embark on an early morning trip to the park and catch the animals at their enthusiastic best at this hour. Enjoy your breakfast amidst the wildlife settings and then commence on your Royal Rajasthan on Wheels journey towards Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan.You will arrive in the city by 11:30 hours and immediately set off for visiting the attractions housed in the city. Your half-day city tour will take you to locations such as Hawa Mahal, City Palace, and the Jantar Mantar. You may also visit the local markets and pick up souvenirs to take back home and enjoy a cultural extravaganza followed by dinner in a city hotel before you return to the train to travel to Khajuraho.
Day 5 - Khajuraho
You will arrive in Madhya Pradesh and more specifically in Khajuraho, a sleepy town mostly visited for its ancient temples and the exotic designing on them. Explore through the Western and Southern group of temples during the day and marvel at the impeccable designing done on them. A light and sound show in the evening will add wonders to your trip. Arrive back at the station to embark on a journey to Varanasi aboard the Royal Rajasthan on Wheels.
Day 6 - Varanasi
Early morning on the 6th day of the trip, you will arrive in Varanasi, a temple town mostly visited by Hindu pilgrims. Also known as Kashi, Varanasi is famous for its temples, its bathing Ghats, the beeline of devotees, and numerous ‘sadhus’ or sages. On your arrival in town, you can undertake a boat ride on the River Ganga and explore the city attractions besides also visiting Sarnath, popular for its Buddhist stupas and caves.Lunch will be served in a premier restaurant in the city following which you can return to the train for some moments of leisure. Exploration of this religious town will definitely rekindle your spiritual side in a big way!Arrive at the Varanasi station after the evening Aarti on the river banks only to proceed towards Agra, the last destination in the circuit and a must visit location on all tours across India.
Day 7 - Agra
Agra is mostly known for being home to the Taj Mahal, an epitome of love and beauty. Built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, the Taj Mahal is recognized as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Besides the Taj, you can also visit the Agra Fort and enjoy a light and sound show to understand the history and culture of the city.
Dinner and overnight stay onboard the train. Travel down to Delhi to bring the tour to an end.
Day 8 - Delhi
After 7 days of a roller coaster journey across some of the most popular destinations in India, this itinerary of the Royal Rajasthan on Wheels Tour will come to an end after you arrive in the Safdarjung railway station at about 04:00 hours.
Post breakfst, disembark and carry on with your sightseeing tours across the country or proceed towards home - the choice ultimately is yours.
