Darjeeling

Darjeeling, also the ‘Queen of Hill stations’,  again one of the top visited hill stations and most romantic honeymoon destinations of India, famous for its pleasant cold climate, natural beauties of pine trees, tea gardens, mountains, local traditional market and most famous toy train journey. There are some top suggested tourist attractions which can impress any tourist in the world like Tiger Hills. It is only eight kilometer (8 km.) away from main Darjeeling city which famous for its panoramic view of the sun rises and the blissful view of the picturesque Darjeeling, magnificently decorated by the dazzling beauty of nature. There are also lots of others tourist spots like the Tiger Hill, Padmaja Naidu Zoological park,Batasia loop, Peace Pagoda, Mirik, Suntalekhola, the Darjeeling mountain railways etc., where you should visit during your stay.

4 NIGHTS / 5 DAYS :

Day 1 : ARRIVE BAGDOGRA / NEW JALPAIGURI * ONTO GANGTOK (130 KMS/ APPROX.5 HOUR DRIVE). Welcome to 'Romantic Getaway - North East' tour! Upon arrival at Airport in Bagdogra / Railway station in New Jalpaiguri, begin your tour.Travel through the picturesque highway running through the lush green forests along the bank of river Teesta on one side and sky touching mountain ranges of Eastern Himalaya on other side. En route view the valley carpeted with numerous wild flowers. Upon arrival check-in to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore this beautiful hill station.

Overnight in Gangtok - None (Meals on your own)

Day 2 : GANGTOK - EXCURSION TSHANGU LAKE. This morning, after breakfast, you will proceed for an excursion to Tshangu Lake - situated at a height of 12400Ft / 3780 Mts / 43Kms in 3Hours one way, with an average depth of 50 ft. The cool water of the Lake is perfectly attuned with the scenic beauty around. The lake freezes completely during the winter and is much revered by the locals in case of Land slide or any reason Tshangu Lake is closed we will provided alternate sightseeing. The rest of the day is at leisure to enjoy the in-house facilities of the hotel.

Overnight in Gangtok (B)

Day 3 : ONTO KALIMPONG. Today, after breakfast, leave for a half day sightseeing covering the exotic Jhakri Water Falls along with Droul Chorthen, Research Institute of Tibetology - 30 which houses thousand volumes and translations of the original teachings of Buddha, Directorate of Handicraft & Handloom & Flower Show.  In the afternoon, drive to Kalimpong (3937 Ft / 1200 Mts, 85 Kms / 03 to 04 Hrs). Upon arrival in Kalimpong, you will check-in to your hotel. Enshrined with ancient Buddhist monasteries, centuries old churches and exquisite revered temples, Kalimpong was earlier a part of Bhutan until it was wrested by British rulers and joined to Indian territory.The rest of the evening is at leisure.

Overnight in Kalimpong (B)Day 4 : ONTO DARJEELING. Today, after breakfast, visit Dello hills, Dr. Graham's Home - an educational institution founded as a home and school for orphan children, Flower Nurseries, Jang-Dong-Palriffo Brang - Monastry built in the mid-1970s by the Dalai Lama, and Durbin Dara Hills - The highest point in Kalimpong, offerings a breathtaking view of the plains below. View the Teesta and Rangeet rivers, western Sikkim, the Kanchenjunga peak, Peshoke and Lopchu tea estates, Nathu-la pass and the towns of Siliguri and Kurseong.
Later, you will be transferred to Darjeeling (7380 Ft / 2250 Mts, 70 Kms / 03 to 04 Hrs). Upon arrival in Darjeeling you will check-in to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure for independent activities.

Overnight in Darjeeling (B)

Day 5 : DARJEELING. Early morning, tour to Tiger Hills (8364 Ft / 2550 Mts at around 4 AM) to view sunrise over Kanchendzonga Peak (subject to clear weather). Even Mount Everest, the world's highest peak, is visible from here. The hesitant rays of the early morning sun paint these peaks in pale gold. On the way back, visit Ghoom Monastery & Batasia Loop.
After breakfast, go for a half-day sightseeing of Darjeeling. Visit the Japanese Peace Pagoda which was established by Nipponzan Myohoji, a Japanese Buddhist order. The pagoda is the highest free structure in the town and showcases the four avatars of the Buddha, in gold polish and eight carvings on sandstone depicting different stages of Buddha's life.
Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park & Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Closed on Thursday) - dedicated towards conserving several endangered varieties of Himalayan fauna and home to a number of endangered species named Red Panda, Tibetan Wolf, the Siberian Tiger and Snow Leopard Tenzing & Gombu Rock - a gigantic natural rock in Darjeeling is named after Tenzing Norgay, the man who created history by climbing the Everest first time along with Edmund Hillary in 1953.
Later transfer to airport to connect your flight back home !!
